GILBERT, Ariz. – UAlbany senior Anna Bottino has been chosen as a participant in the 2017 Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Senior Game. Bottino was one of 50 players across all of DI field hockey to be named as participants. Last season, UAlbany's seniors Maxi Primus and Paula Heuser were honored as participants in the 2016 Senior Game. This year the Senior Game will be played following the semifinals of the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship, November 17th at the University of Louisvillle. Bottino has accumulated many accolades over the years including being named to the 2015 NFHCA All-Region First Team. In the America East, Bottino was named the America East Rookie of the Year (2014) and is a two-time Second Team All-Conference selection (2014, 2015). Also in 2015, Bottino was named the America East Tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Academically, she is a two-time member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad majoring in psychology. Cosima Rocktaeschel was named the America East Rookie of the Week. This is Rocktaeschel's first weekly honor and the Danes' fourth honor this season. The freshman was honored for her seven point performance in the 8-2 UAlbany victory over Fairfield. Not only did Rocktaeschel score her first career goal, but the freshman recorded the team's first hat trick of the season with goals in the 13th, 19th, and 58th minute. UAlbany outshout the Catamounts 18-6, with 12 shots on goal. Ghislaine Beerkens recorded the first two goals of the game, while Frederike Helmke and Katie MacCallum each added one as well. In just under two minutes of play, Dana Bozek took the ball from the outside of the circle to find Ghislaine Beerkens within feet from the goal. Beerkens shot to the left of the goalie finding the back corner. Multiple defensive stops were made by UAlbany, including an important stop in the 32nd minute by Frederike Helmke in a fast transition by the UVM midfield. In the 39th minute, Beerkens fired her second goal of the game, but this time from the stick of Katie MacCallum. Facing away from the goal, MacCallum set Beerkens up with a perfect pass to tap in. Danes led 2-0.

Season Records: UAlbany 4-5 UMass Lowell 6-5 Short Story: #18 UAlbany takes UMass Lowell to two overtime periods but falls 2-1 in the 89th minute of play. UMass Lowell led at the end of the first half 1-0 from a goal off of a rebounded shot. In the second half, freshman Liz Ryan scored her first career goal as a Great Dane to send the game into overtime. Although UAlbany outshot UMass Lowell 6-2 in both overtime periods combined, UMass Lowell scored the final goal to make the final score 2-1.
