The Great Danes finished 13th in Dade City, Florida at the Lake Jovita Golf Club. UAlbany shot a total of 980 (+116) with round scores of 332-323-325. Georgia Southern took the team title shooting a 897 (+33), followed by Southern Miss, Boston College (899), and Florida Gulf Coast (907) in the top four. For UAlbany, Annie Lee led the way placing 45th overall in the field of 77 golfers. She shot round scores of 83-75-80 for a total score of 238. Megan Henry followed close behind tying for 48th place with a score of 239 (82-78-79), while Paige Fujihara shot a 254 (87-82-85). Caroline Juillat (256) and Annika Espino (260) rounded out UAlbany's line up. Up next, the Great Danes will compete in the Avenue Spring Break Classic in Kapalua, Hawaii. UAlbany will compete in the three-day tournament starting March 27th-March 29th at the Kapalua Golf Club Bay Course.
ALBANY, N.Y. – UAlbany travels to Dade City, Florida to compete in their first spring tournament of the 2017 season. The tournament will take place Monday and Tuesday, March 13-14 and is hosted by Western Kentucky University and the University of Southern Mississippi. THE TEAM In the fall, UAlbany competed in five tournaments with three impressive finishes including a 2nd place finish at the Quinnipiac Classic. The Great Danes roster has changed since the fall, graduating seniors Rosalee Hearns and Yoorim Kang. However, head coach Colleen Cashman-McSween has filled their void with new additions, Caitlan Blydenburgh and Helga Einarsdottir. Leaders, Annie Songeun Lee and Paige Fujihara will return this weekend. Lee's best finish in the fall was at the Rutger's Invitational where she tied for second shooting 10 over par, while Fujihara's best finish was at dual match against Sienna where she placed 1st. THE COMPETITION The Great Danes will be up against a talented 13-team field featuring Fort Wayne, Tennessee Tech, St. John's, North Florida, W Kentucky, Southern Miss, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Southern, Boston College, Samford, and Jacksonville State. They will also face last year's MAAC champion, Quinnipiac. THE COURSE Lake Jovita Golf Club is a par 72, 6,325 yard course. The Great Danes will tee-off at 8:30 a.m. ET.
Women's Golf Ties for First Place in MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll The University at Albany has tied for first place in the 2017 Women's Golf MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Great Danes received a total of 71 points with the highest number of first place votes (5) in the poll, making it the third season in a row where the Great Danes have been selected to finish first in the MAAC Women's Golf Championship.
The UAlbany women's golf team will play four spring tournaments in 2017, including a competition to Hawaii and two trips to Florida, announced by the team.

Coming off a win over Siena College, the University at Albany women's golf team looks to repeat its last year's performance at the Quinnipiac Classic in Hamden, Conn. The Great Danes, who claimed the tournament title in 2015, will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday at New Haven Country Club.
The University at Albany women's golf team carded a 318, overcoming crosstown rival Siena (337) by 19 strokes Sunday afternoon at Albany Country Club.
