TUSCALOOSA, AL— After a four hour and thirty-minute rain delayed start time, the Great Danes fell to Louisiana Tech in the first elimination game of the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional. Louisiana Tech scored first in the bottom of the first inning with two singles through the infield. In the bottom of the second and third they added an additional six runs to the board with the help of a two-run home run by the Lady Techster's Morgan Turkoly. The Great Danes were able to counter with one run in the top of the fourth. Sarah Petzold started off the inning with a hard-hit double into left field. Donna Conrad then moved her over with a single over the third baseman, but it was Kelly Spear who recorded the RBI with a long ball tapping the left field fence. Moving to th The Great Danes concluded their season with a record of 27-18, with a conference record of 8-7. This season UAlbany earned their spot in the NCAA Tournament by winning the America East Tournament for the sixth time in program history.
