After Mary Adeyeye placed second overall in the women's heptathlon earlier this week and two school records opened the first full day of competition, the second full day at the Penn Relays saw two more University at Albany track & field school records go down.
The University at Albany baseball team (14-20, 3-9 AE) will begin an eight-day, eight-game home stand this weekend when they host a rematch series against UMBC. Previously, the Great Danes opened America East play visiting the Retrievers, falling in two of the three games in Baltimore.
ALBANY, N.Y. – The UAlbany Softball team is set to compete in its final home series of the year against the Hartford Hawks on Saturday, April 29th for a doubleheader at 1 p.m. and Sunday for a single game on Senior Day Sunday, April 30th at 12 p.m. UAlbany will honor its four-member senior class on Friday for Senior Day. Great Dane seniors Liz Snow, Mackenzie Cleary, Kayla Bailey, and Caitlin Cooper will be honored in a pregame ceremony on Sunday. The Great Danes return to UAlbany after playing a non-conference game last weekend against Lehigh. Due to weather, only one game of the doubleheader was played. The Mountain Hawks took the win 14-5 over the Great Danes in 5 innings. Against Lehigh, Aliyah Wade had a standout performance with two triples going 2-3 at the plate. UAlbany now sits with a record of 18-15. In their last conference matchup the Great Danes faced UMBC and split the series 2-1. The Great Danes currently sit fifth in conference with a record of 3-7.
By switching roles this spring, Neven Sussman moved from a double threat to a triple threat for the University at Albany Great Danes.
ALBANY, N.Y.— Softball will host Binghamton at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, May 2nd. This is the third game of the series which was originally scheduled for April 26th. Therefore, UAlbany's game against Syracuse scheduled for May 2nd is now cancelled in order to fit in the conference game against the Bearcats.

Thursday featured mostly women's events, but some of the Great Dane men got into the action as well.

University at Albany senior Cassandra Edwards has been named a recipient of the Chancellor's Award, the university announced last week. It is the latest in a long line of accolades that Edwards has received academically as a UAlbany student and athletically as a member of the women's basketball team.
After seeing yet another one of their games cancelled due to inclement weather, the University at Albany (13-30, 3-9 AE) hit the road once again, this time to play a single game at Iona. The Great Danes found themselves in a three-run deficit, but scored seven in the final two innings to win the game 8-4.
University at Albany senior Mary Adeyeye resumed competition Wednesday at the Penn Relays for the final three events of the women's heptathlon. After the first four events, Adeyeye stood in second place with 2,637 points, trailing only Ursuline sophomore Janelle Perry who had accumulated 2,769 points by the end of the first day.
The scheduled UAlbany-Binghamton softball game scheduled for Wednesday, April 26th has been postponed.
