Men's Basketball Adds Three More To 2013-14 Season

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany head men's basketball coach Will Brown announces the addition of three more student-athletes to the upcoming 2013-14 season. The three signees join junior college transfers Lamin Fulton, Levan Shengelia and true freshman Dallas Ennema to complete the six-man recruiting class.

“Our goal was to use the 2013 class to add talent and experience to our program,” said Coach Brown on the 2013 recruiting class. “I really like the overall skill set and basketball IQ of this group.  All have been well coached this year and are ready for success at the Division I level.  I am confident that this group will have an impact on the court, success in the classroom, and be contributing members of the Albany community.”

Anders Haas 6'1 State College of Florida at Manatee Junior College  Hometown: Copenhagen, Denmark
Haas averaged 17.9 points and 7.4 assists per game, while shooting an impressive  46.2% from three-point range and 90.1 percent from free-throw line. He played for the Under-20 National Team in Denmark and has been selected to train with the Senior Men's National Team in Denmark this summer. The six-foot-one transfer will have three years of eligibility at UAlbany.

BROWN on Haas
:  “Anders is a big time shooter with a high basketball IQ. He has terrific vision and is an exceptional passer. He has international experience representing Denmark, has the ability to play the point guard and shooting guard positions. He makes his teammates better,  even more exciting is he will have three years of eligibility.”

Anthony Odunsi 6'5 205  Tyler Junior College, Texas  Hometown:  Houston, TX
Anthony averaged 13.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.  He shot 50 percent from the floor, 40 percent from three-point range and 82.2 percent from free-throw line.  His team went 22-9 and he played point guard the majority of the season.

BROWN on Odunsi:
“Anthony is a talented and versatile perimeter player. He can play all three perimeter positions, is relentless attacking the basket and is a very good free-throw shooter. I like the fact that he can play the point at six-foot-five. He has the ability to be a lock down defender, and I like that Anthony has experience playing at the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) level in the PAC- 12.”

Ede Egharevba  6'6 210 Midland Junior College, JC  Hometown: Rosedale, NY
(Pronounced- Eddy Egg-ha-rev-ba)
Ede averaged 5.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game at Midland while backing up a BCS level prospect. He is a former 2010 All-New York City Player out of Edison HS. He was the leading scorer at Mack Prep, N.C in 2011. He signed with Wichita St. out of prep school and redshirted his first year there.

BROWN on Egharevba:
“Ede has great size for a perimeter player and can score in a variety of ways. He should be a match-up problem at our level and figure to play him at both forward positions. He has experience playing in an NCAA Final Four Program and will have three years of eligibility.”

“We are very excited about the three student-athletes we signed during the spring signing period,” added Coach Brown on the spring signees. “We are adding talent, experience, and versatility to our program.  All three are ready to make an impact and compete at the NCAA D1 level.”
