Men's Basketball Head Coach Will Brown Advances To Next Round Of "Shots From The Heart"

ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany men's basketball head coach Will Brown has moved on to the next round in the 2013 "Shots From The Heart" Tournament, after shooting 20-of-25 from the free-throw line. Brown defeated head coach Casey Alexander of Stetson University in the first round and will wait to face either University of Tulane's Ed Conroy or New Jersey Institute of Technology's Jim Engles.
One of UAlbany's assistant head coaches, Jeremy Friel, is also participating in the event. Friel shot a perfect 25-of-25 and will wait to hear the results of Binghamton University's Lazarus Sims.
In the past two events, UAlbany's head coach has advanced to back-to-back elite eight appearances with a trip to the final four his first time around.
The event is designed to create awareness for heart disease and pay tribute to former Wake Forest head coach Skip Prosser who passed away on July 26, 2007 of a heart attack. There are two brackets of 64, one for head coaches and one for assistant head coaches.

Each matchup, between either two head coaches or two assistants, shoot 25 free throws at a time. The first ten free throws are worth one point, the next five are worth two, the following five are worth three, the next four are worth four and the final free throw is worth five.
