Cambridge, Mass. - University at Albany had 57 student-athletes named to the America East Conference Fall 2011 Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. Among that number were 31 student-athletes who earned Commissioner's Honor Roll status. UAlbany was led by field hockey and women's soccer, which each had 12 team members on the honor roll. The women's soccer team, along with the men's cross country squad, both had seven student-athletes earn Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades.

            In order to earn Academic Honor Roll distinction, student-athletes must achieve semester grade-point averages (GPA) of 3.00 or higher, while Commissioner's Honor Roll requires a GPA of 3.50 or higher. Approximately 63 percent of America East student-athletes competing in fall sports, totaling 632 participants, earned America East Honor Roll accolades.
